Endangered Species Day is Friday, May 17th and we have many ways for you to participate!<\/p>

There are events happening in every state in the country. If you can\u2019t find an event near you or you\u2019re unable to attend, don\u2019t worry we have you covered!\u00a0 Read more below about two ESC signature events we\u2019re holding so people of all ages can participate from home.<\/p>

For the fourth year in a row, the Endangered Species Coalition is holding a nationwide, all-ages chalk art event in honor of Endangered Species Day<\/b>!<\/p>

More than 1 million species globally are threatened with extinction. <\/b>Art is one of the most powerful tools we have to draw attention to this crisis. That\u2019s why we\u2019re holding the Endangered Species Chalk Art Event again!<\/p>

From now through Sunday, we\u2019re inviting people around the world to create chalk art depicting threatened, endangered, or vanishing species.<\/b> This is a great way to celebrate wildlife, and you can also win prizes! More than $400 in prize money and chocolate bars will be given away in awards for the best artwork and at random to lucky participants.<\/p>

To enter the contest and be eligible to win a prize, all you have to do is post a photo of your chalk art on Instagram between now and Sunday at midnight.<\/b> If you include #EndangeredSpeciesChalkArt and tag @endangeredspeciescoalition in your post, we\u2019ll include your art in the contest.<\/p>

We can\u2019t wait to see all the wonderful wildlife chalk art that everyone will create.<\/p>

Would you like to learn more about the world around you close to home? Get to know the wildlife you share space with! This weekend, we are featuring multiple ways to participate in community science activities like documenting plants and wildlife and learning more about the natural world in your community. In addition, social media is one of the best tools that we have to raise awareness of Endangered Species Day and the issue of species conservation more generally. Social media allows us to reach a wide public audience, generating publicity and public attention for conservation endeavors, and the overall importance of working to protect endangered species.\u00a0<\/p>

On Friday, May 17th (Endangered Species Day 2024), please post to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or other platforms and use the hashtag #EndangeredSpeciesDay <\/b>and the hashtag #StopExtinction<\/b>. Find sample posts and graphics on our Social Media Toolkit<\/a><\/p>

There are also many Endangered Species Day events happening around the world <\/b>from webinars to nature walks to activities you can do at home. Thank you for helping us raise awareness of the importance of protecting wildlife this Endangered Species Day!
